Ritu Malhotra, PharmD is President of Illuminate Rx, where she leads the company’s strategy, growth, and operations for its next-generation pharmacy benefit manager. With more than 20 years of experience across pharmacy benefits, consulting, and healthcare innovation, Ritu is recognized for building high-performing teams and delivering solutions that improve affordability while protecting member outcomes. 

A nationally respected pharmacist and executive leader, Ritu brings deep expertise in benefit design, clinical strategy, cost containment, and complex vendor negotiations. Throughout her career, she has advised large employers, health plans, public sector organizations, Taft-Hartley trusts, and labor unions, helping them navigate rising drug costs and implement pharmacy strategies grounded in evidence-based care and financial discipline. 

At Illuminate Rx, Ritu oversees the company’s strategic direction as it delivers pharmacist-designed solutions focused on achieving the lowest net cost, flexible plan design, and clinically sound formularies that prioritize generics and biosimilars. Her leadership reflects a strong belief that pharmacy benefits should be simpler, more accountable, and designed to give employers real control over outcomes. 

Ritu earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lehigh University and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. She completed a post-doctoral residency in pharmacy benefit consulting at Aon and is a licensed pharmacist. She is also active in the community and currently serves as a Board Director for the Kohl Children’s Museum.
